search engine visibility:
what it takes to get noticed
We employ basic, sound and effective strategies that increase a website's visibility to the search engines and include:
Keywords
The two most important places to put keywords are in the title tags and the visible-body text.
Title Tags
Title-tag text is considered primary text by the search engines. All the search engines index this text and place significant weight on it.
New Content
Updating your website regularly has a variety of benefits. If you want to rank well in search results, post new content often.
Content Analysis
This process involves reviewing the textual content of your websites in order to ensure that relevant keywords and phrases are located toward the beginning of the text (above the fold) on each page. How high up a keyword is on a web page is called keyword prominence. Optimizing the textual content of a website is a critical factor for search engines.
Subheadings
One simple way to include important keywords at the top of each of your web pages is to begin every page with a heading or headline that contains keywords.
Alternative Text
These are words and phrases associated with images in your website. These alt tags, as they're called, are looked at by the search engines, much the same way as keywords. Alt tags are especially important on pages where there is a minimum of textual content.
Monitoring
Part of our monthly maintenance schedule can include monitoring your Website for search engine visibility and tweaking it where necessary.
Site Map
In some cases, it is useful to create a site map or crawler page for your website to improve visibility. This is an image-free page, offering a schematic view of your site that includes links to all the pages on your site.
