Kent Johnsson Architect PLLC was established in February 2007 in White Plains, NY as a general practice architectural firm, providing a full range of planning and design services. We were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Mr. Johnsson to create a website for his new business.
In terms of visual design, we wanted to allow Mr. Johnsson's style, manifest in his beautiful drawings and photos, inform the look and feel of the site. We kept the color palette somewhat monchromatic except for the bold red of the logo and a changing array of muted background colors. A lovely sketch of a house set amid leafy trees, drawn by Mr. Johnsson and emblematic of his philosophy, was used in a variety of ways throughout the site. It provides a backdrop for content on some pages; its roofline peeks out in a playful way at the bottom of all pages; the full house in miniature sits on the homepage.
As Mr. Johnsson's firm grows, new projects are undertaken, and current projects are completed, the site will be updated to reflect this movement forward. To that end, the site was designed as a scalable structure for growth and its pages were laid out so that revisions can be made as easily and cost-efficiently as possible.
Like all Painted Pages websites, this site was developed to be extremely search engine friendly. It includes search-engine focused text treatments, alternative text for images and a site structure designed for search engine optimization. These help search engine spiders accurately index the information contained in the site, which will help increase the site's visibility for search engine users.
